Chicago’s Premier Mobile Raw Bar

Motorshucker was started by Mico Hillyard and Kat Dennis in the middle of the pandemic. Restaurants were closed, and we really missed oysters. One of our good friend's family owned an oyster farm in Long Island Sound, so we started ordering oysters for our personal birthdays and celebrations.

Around this time, we also started getting into motorcycles. We bought a '74 Honda cb360 to fix up. The repair costs were a lot for us at the time, so we developed a plan — we would order great oysters, then ride around and shuck them for Chicago at large. And buy more motorcycles. Motorshucker was born.

Motorshucker began with a goal of working alongside the Chicago community to bring great food and times to some unexpected places. What we didn't fully anticipate, however, was our little side project blossoming into a full raw bar plus catering company. In Summer 2022, Cub Dimling came on as a partner, and several months later, Chef Jamie Davis jumped aboard to build out the menus.

One thing has stayed constant - our passion for motorcycles and mollusks. All over Chicago (and beyond!), Motorshucker has brought the Midwest premium direct-from-farm shellfish and other exceptional dishes. This would not be possible without our excellent partners such as Fisher’s Island, Regalis, Island Creek, Cut Once and more.

The four of us are here to bring Chicago lush raw bars, oyster shucking classes, birthday seafood towers, collaborations with chefs, bars, and stores. And to ride motorbikes of course.
